The SIM Foundation’s inaugural Bourbon Trail Enclave (BTE) was an unforgettable blend of camaraderie, exquisite bourbon, fine dining, and—most importantly—a successful fundraiser for a deeply meaningful cause. We set out to try something new, fun, and engaging, and the results exceeded all expectations. This was more than an event—it was a celebration of purpose, connection, and generosity.
A very special THANK YOU to my co-chair, Eric Gorham, who came up with the idea, and together, we made it happen!
Day 1: Warm Welcomes & Nightcap Surprises
We kicked things off on Sunday with arrivals and a heartfelt reunion at Goodwood Bar and Grill, where old friends reconnected, and new friendships blossomed. The energy was electric with anticipation for the adventure ahead.
A special treat awaited us each night at Club 1026, a surprise addition generously hosted by Expedient. Their private suite, stocked with premium bourbons, became the perfect nightcap lounge for storytelling and relaxation. Huge thanks to Bradley Reynolds for opening this exclusive experience to all of us.
Day 2: Flavor, Elegance & Memorable Moments
The day began in style with a delectable brunch at Against the Grain and Brewery Smokehouse, complete with refreshing Bloody Mary’s and Mimosas.
Then it was off to the first of our six distilleries:
Michter’s Distillery (1/6): A phenomenal kickoff with warm hospitality and passionate storytelling that set a high bar.
Angel’s Envy (2/6): Our second stop, rich in flavor and equally rich in heritage.
We wrapped up the evening with a truly remarkable dinner at Jeff Ruby’s Steakhouse. The service was top-tier, the food exceptional, and the ambiance unforgettable—arguably the best dining experience many of us have had in years.
Of course, we ended back at Club 1026, where the premium bourbon and laughter flowed freely once more. Our thanks again to Bradley Reynolds and the Expedient team for their generous hospitality.
Day 3: A Journey of Craft & Community
Our third day was an extraordinary tour through some of Kentucky’s finest distilleries:
Woodford Reserve (3/6): A masterclass in bourbon tradition and elegance.
Bluegrass Distillers (4/6): Our “mystery” stop, full of heart and authenticity off the beaten path.
Buffalo Trace (5/6): Grand in scale and stunning in execution, this stop was a fan favorite, offering an immersive, almost theme park-like experience.
Old Forester (6/6): A perfect finale, led by knowledgeable distillers who exemplify pride in every batch they craft.
We closed the day with an elevated rooftop dinner at the Old Forester Distillery, under the Kentucky sky. Each guest received a custom engraved gift box, complete with:
Two premium bourbon glasses
Four stainless steel ice cubes
Four engraved stone coasters featuring our sponsors’ logos
It was a heartfelt gesture to thank everyone who helped make this event so special.
This was just the beginning—stay tuned for Bourbon Trail Enclave 2.0!
